International Doodle for Joseph Plateau

There's an international Google Doodle today celebrating the work of Joseph Plateau on animation.

Joseph Plateau was a professor in Physics at Ghent (Belgium) University. He used a series of images, each representing a slightly different position in a movement. By mounting them in a rotating cylinder he simulated a single moving picture.
