Arctic warming feedback

In 2012 Arctic Sea Ice was only half of the 1979-2000 average.
The decline is accelerating, because the additional water surface absorbs more warmth then the ice.
Because a third of the Arctic Ocean is shallow, the icy underground will melt, releasing large quantities of methane. Methane is greenhouse gas with a much greater greenhouse warming effect than C02, taking the arctic warming into third gear.

Global warming countered by acid rain

A recent NASA study links global warming to the decrease in sulfate particles in the air, because these particles reflect heat. Sulfate particles were the cause of acid rain.














The same study, concentrating on aerosols as a cause for global warming, says a rise in sooth levels from Chinese coal, is causing a temperature rise, because sooth absorbs warmth.

Wetlands Loss Fuelling CO2 Feedback Loop

Wetlands hold massive stores of carbon -- an amount in CO2 equivalent comparable to the carbon content of today's entire atmosphere.

However, wetlands, including peatlands, continue to be converted to other uses around the world, resulting in large emissions of carbon and methane.

By itself, climate change is already degrading wetlands, especially in the Arctic and near Arctic regions where the once permanently frozen peatlands are thawing. If global average temperatures rise 3 or 4 degrees C, most wetlands, will likely dry out.
